The Legacy Continues…
In 2005, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the death of our father, we could not think of a better way to honour the legacy of selflessness, public service, and unalloyed integrity left to us by our father than to return to Ondo and do something for the people he loved so much. We built and donated an assembly hall to Awosika Memorial Primary School, Omolore St. Yaba, Ondo.
Chief Awosika started this school in 1947 out of his own personal funds for the free education of Ondo indigenes. To indicate his intention, he called it Ondo Public School. This was the first private initiative towards free education in Nigeria.
According to him, he saw a need in his community and just did something about it. That describes who our father was. He did not wait for others to solve a problem that he could solve. The school continues today and has graduated thousands of notable Ondo indigenes world-wide.
We are extremely proud to be his children and it gave us great pleasure to celebrate his life by giving to the community he loved so much.
F.O. Awosika was a consummate Ondo man.
We are grateful to God for being the foundation upon whom our lives have been built. God had a plan and He has been working His plan in our lives. We trust Him to continue to lead us in the paths of righteousness.
We have been truly blessed with a great heritage.
The legacy continues!
